Privacy Policy
Your photos live on hardware you own. We can't see them, we never hold your keys, and we never sell your information. Below is the plain-language version, then the details.
The promise: your photos stay on your Vault, your passwords and recovery key are yours alone, and monitoring sends us health readings only — never file names, folders or photos. We keep only what we need to talk with you and look after your Vault.
This is a placeholder describing HavenVault’s actual practices. It will be replaced with reviewed legal copy before any Vault is sold.
What we collect
Archive Safety Check: your answers, your email, and if you choose to give them, your first name, Instagram handle, whether you’d like founding member access and how you heard about us. We also note which link brought you to the check, and the first link you ever arrived from, which your browser remembers for us (in its local storage, not a cookie).
Questions: your name, email and whatever you tell us about your setup.
If you buy a Vault (once sales open): your shipping address and payment, which is handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
From a Vault on a Protect plan: health readings only — drive status, storage status and backup results.
What we don’t collect
We do not access, copy, host or scan your photo library. We don’t keep your Vault’s passwords or your offsite recovery key; they’re printed for you and never stored by us. If you use Protect Plus, your archive is encrypted on your Vault before it leaves your home, so the copy we store can’t be opened by us. We never ask for your Wi-Fi password.
How we use your information
To send your Safety Check report and three short follow-up emails over the following ten days (backup basics, a few questions about price, and whether you’d like a founding member spot), answer your questions, contact you about founding member spots if you asked for that, and, once you own a Vault, to build, ship and look after it. Every follow-up has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run HavenVault, each handling only what its job requires: website hosting (Vercel), a database that stores what you send through the site (Neon), email delivery (Resend), website analytics (Google Analytics), and later payment processing and encrypted offsite storage.
From that database, your submission is copied into HavenLabs’ own customer records system, which runs on our own servers, so we can follow up with you.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which links brought them, so we know what’s worth doing more of. It sets cookies in your browser to count visits; it doesn’t tell us who you are. We don’t use advertising cookies. You can block analytics with your browser’s privacy settings or Google’s opt-out add-on.
Your choices
You can ask us to update or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@havenvault.net.
